Acting on behalf of the President’s Office, the University Trademarks and Licensing Office (UTL) serves as the University’s liaison to the Worker Rights Consortium (WRC), Fair Labor Association (FLA), and other human rights advocacy organizations. Through these partnerships, the office strengthens MSU’s commitment to corporate social responsibility both internally and externally.
MSU is dedicated to working with companies that demonstrate a strong commitment to ethical practices, transparency, and accountability throughout their supply chains. In that, MSU is committed to ensuring that all products bearing its marks are made under fair, safe, and responsible working conditions. We encourage our partners to maintain the highest standards of corporate responsibility and are committed to helping them achieve those goals.
UTL, in connection with our licensing agency, CLC, has adopted Labor Code standards that require licensees to disclose the locations of the factories it owns or contracts with and authorize announced and unannounced inspections/monitoring of the factories.
Erika Austin, Director of University Trademarks and Licensing, serves as the University liaison to the WRC and FLA. She is currently a member of the FLA Board of Directors representing the University Caucus.
If you're a licensee interested in becoming an FLA affiliate, please visit their website for more details.
